  According to the Bible, God sometimes delays, in our lives, because He loves us.  Contrary to the song that says "O my God, He will not delay, Our God will come through always", I always change those lyrics to "O my God, He sometimes delays, Our God will come through always" [though sometimes not until after this life has finished].
