  • when I am weak, then I am strong

"Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me--to keep me from exalting myself!

Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness."

Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong."  - 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

That last sentence and the rest of what Paul said here is quite astonishing...   also very applicable to me these days...   and perhaps to you...?

  • Amen. I agree. It is astonishing.

  • So true, it is all Him, not us.

  • Tim, thank you for asking me that question. I have been struggling with my relationship with God lately; life is actually going quite well, yet I allow myself to brood over the "bad" things and pity myself. I "forget" God's grace, mercy and love. I begin to think that my circumstances are "unfair", but the scripture above reminded me of the truth. Would you please pray for me, that I would draw near to God and be content in weakness, because you're right, nothing is more important than the Father. Thank you for your exhortation.
