stereotypes and prejudice
stereotypes and prejudice are hard to get rid of... especially when you think you've grown past your own prejudice enough to provide "sensitivity training" to others...
...and once certain stereotypes become ensconced in society, be careful about questioning them... you could lose your job.
...or your life.

What an interesting article! And, to think, he was put on probation for having a "diverse" view! I really like the ideas they brought up about the stereotypes they had. Only two choices for the Hispanic. I wonder if you chose the poor African American you got jail or drug dealer?
People just need to develop thicker skins. We all have stereotypes to overcome and they should be perceived as special challenges. If you're black, you should encourage fellow blacks to keep away from drugs and stay out of jail. If you're Hispanic, you should encourage fellow Hispanics to enter the country legally. If you are a Christian, you should encourage other Christians live what they preach and pursue a Christ-like life. If you are a capitalist you should encourage other capitalists to embrace compassion and Adam Smith's invisible hand. If everyone just did what they were supposed to do, we would have no negative stereotypes.
