Now. I saw your thing on self-defense awhile back and it -really- interested me, but I didn't have time to say anything. What I'll say NOW is this.

I don't know if I've told you this before, but I take a martial art called Aikido. The nice thing about Aikido is that it's truly founded in the concept of self-defense, not offense. When someone attacks you, tries to punch you, whatever, you manipulate their energy to use it against them. Ideally, you can pin them so that they can't move, but they aren't badly hurt or even hurt at all. This removes the worry of killing someone.

Now. Someone breaks into my house. I have a gun. What am I going to do? Shoot them. IDEALLY, if they have no gun and I do, I'll get close enough to get them in the shoulders, the kneecaps, or the elbows. Again Ideally, I would put a bullet in each of their shoulders. But this isn't ideal, so I might end up killing them.

I'm not Christian, so I don't have a Christian outlook, but I would never be the same person again after killing someone.
