  • politics...

    Interesting article - http://www.towersonline.net/story.php?grp=news&id=243 (thanks to Dr. Thunderpants @ http://www.xanga.com/item.aspx?user=DrThunderpants&tab=weblogs&uid=184882742 )

I find it funny, in a sense, to think about the intense politics involved in groups like this.  Not only is there the actual voting, but also the behind-the-scenes wrangling, and 'even' the questions of who will do the praying, moderating, reporting, and keynote-addressing for the groups (because these certainly have an effect on the voters!).

Also, I tend to think that even if all the 'conservative' denominations/groups 'went liberal' / started denying the gospel, God's true church would continue right on.  Nothing will ever squash it out, not even postmodernism or post-conservativism, because it's sustained by God's Holy Spirit.

Yet, Mohler is absolutely right that the church would be "hurt," weakened, etc.  There is moral relevance and urgency to social, denominational, and political struggles.  Some.

The ultimate is still the individual responsibility - 'Go and make disciples of all nations...'
