It would be a tough swim to the island, but definitely possible on a calm day.  It's probably a little over a kilometer from the shore (the pictures are a little deceptive distance-wise).  The ocean is usually pretty choppy though making swimming difficult.  I tell you what.  If you come visit us in Korea, we'll swim to the island together Deal?
