For those of you who have heard of the recent incident with John Kerry saying disrespectful things about the US Armed Forces, here's a bit of humor:

Also, this article about current world demographic trends ( http://www.macleans.ca/culture/books/article.jsp?content=20061023_134898_134898 ) is really interesting! And the author is a splendid and gripping writer, too. Read it if you have a bit of time!

LOVE the picture! Thanks for sharing it. You keep me up on political happenings. I tend to be a bit dense and disinterested in that area.
Heyo. I already said this someplace else, but I'll repeat it here: I think that comment was directed at Bush, not the soldiers. He meant to say that if you have a bad education you'll get into unfortunate situations, like starting a war with no real ability to either proceed or retreat.
I hope people aren't going to get angry at him for messing up one little phrase - I mean, Bush has done far worse.

That's hilarious!
And to LordCanti, I don't think we hold it against Kerry for simply "messing up" a phrase.
I do agree that it's pretty cool that they can take the comment that well if that's how they're interpreting it.
Can't speak for any political party as a whole, but most of the people I know who align themselves as democrats or liberals are angry that the troops are there, not at the troops themselves. I for one DO like the troops, and it kinda saddens me that they're putting their lives on the line for something that looks less daily like there's a good outcome. I respect that decision, but I don't think they should have had to make it.
I can imagine religious faith is a nice thing to have, but internal faith suits me personally better.

Ah yes, and this is the guy who wanted to be our commander and chief. A man who undermined on his fellow troops during the Vietnam war and now is so exuberantly intent on undermining our current president that he undermines todays troops in the process.
I'm sorry, if the comment really was aimed only at President Bush (which I'm willing to admit is possible) then Kerry or his speech writer or both are really dense. It doesn't take a genius to realize how that's going to sound.
But I'd better stop. I'll get fired up. Thanks for the pic, I enjoyed that.
Good picture. I took my car into the shop this week and they had this picture on the front door.
