WCC - "no proselytizing"
The World Council of Churches is now "discussing" conversion and proselytization... with the eventual goal of outlawing proselytization.
Not too surprising, considering the times...

Not surprising at all--but what I am always struck by is the contrast between the (unspoken) premise that all religions are equal on one hand, and the bias against people converting on the other. How could you talk like that about proselytizing and conversion if you honestly thought Christianity was true, and exclusive truth? But, on the other hand, the Muslims and Chinese and etc. don't want anyone to leave the official religion so that they can maintain control, or whatever other reason....this is not a productive dialogue, and the truth is not invited. I don't think they're likely to "find a common voice" with evangelical groups.
I agree.... what surprises me a little is that Muslims would be willing to participate at all! ...i.e., if you look at the history of the Muslim religion... I guess it just shows that there are two faces to Islam. One historical/Quranic, and the other liberal/ecumenical/syncretistic.
